The Moon spends today in Scorpio and goes into Sagittarius for Easter Sunday. How perfectly fitting for the Christian theology of this holiday with its theme of death, resurrection, and ascension. Scorpio takes us down into the depths of the underworld, through the suffering and darkness in us that need to die and be transformed by the light. Sagittarius lifts our eyes to the heavens to look beyond the mundane, beyond the past, beyond our old selves and into the higher realms of spiritual and philosophical understanding. This process rolls away the stone of our unconsciousness and brings us out of the sleep of the dead to be reborn as a new creature, aspiring to ever greater heights of the experience of love and wisdom. The same is true for the ancient non-Christian view of spring as Ishtar and Eostre bring us the gift of the renewal and rebirth of life from the Goddess herself. From the dead and dormant states of winter to the bright and burgeoning bursts of flowers and budding trees, we emerge from the darkness and into the light of a brighter Sun. The cold in us is now warmed and we are invited to stretch and blossom with all other forms of life around us. No matter what your personal beliefs are, Easter has always come each year to teach us that everything is born, grows, thrives, declines, and dies.....only to be reborn again and again. Regardless of your religious affiliations, Jesus' story is a beautiful example of this truth. Have a beautiful, refreshing, renewing Easter weekend. And remember, you don't have to be dead to move into the light.

MUG OF THE MOON: The Moon is full today in Libra. Hmmmmm -- interesting since conversations the past few days have centered around relationship issues left over from Saturn in Libra---that was Sept of 2009 to Sept of 2012. Many of you are sharing with me challenging and painful moments as you struggle to draw a healthy boundary (again!) between yourself and those who are toxic in your life. We want so much to be loved, to be embraced and accepted. Sometimes we'll allow unacceptable behaviors in the process. "That is not all right," says your Soul -- "now act accordingly." Did we really think the required review of this last month wouldn't bring that back around for quality control? Today's Full Moon gives us the energy to bring completion to these difficult lessons. As the wise one once said, "Bless them....and let them go." The Moon in Gemini gives Mercury a little boost to help it go direct today. I can hear the "hallelujahs" from here. Although we will be hungover until April 6th or so, at least we won't be "sloppy-drunk". All kidding aside, it has been a deep one this time, and many of us are left with clearly delineated homework to finish up. But, just as winter is slowly giving way to spring, we are slowly stretching and yawning as we wake from this Pisces slumber. Within a few days, the Sun will be in Aries, shortly after Venus will accompany him, Mars is already there (of course!), and by the middle of April, Mercury will catch up with the lot of them. I think we will be welcoming of the wide-eyed self-awareness that Aries will bring us after these last few weeks. Invite the harbingers of spring energetically as well as physically -- fill the feeders for the robins and cardinals, pick the early daffodils if they're going to freeze, and tend the last fires of winter to scatter the ashes over the earth so the coming Sun can activate them and feed them to the hungry Earth. Give thanks for your healing, give thanks for your releasing, give thanks for the returning warmth and strength of Father Fire. The Gemini Moon attempts to pull our attention into our analytical, fact-finding mind. That's a difficult task at the moment with so much emotional and unconscious focus whirling around. Although the mind is a powerful thing, the unconscious mind has been referred to as a "brilliant idiot" and has the real power. When they do not agree, it's not the monkey-mind that wins the argument. The logical, word-oriented dancing of the thinking mind makes no sense to the unconscious. Deep within ourselves, we find feelings, not ideas. And so, if the thought and the feeling are conflicted, the feeling will win the day. However, the sages say, if the thought and the feeling are unified and in agreement, that bond creates an energy that nothing in the Universe can stop. It may be very easy to see the debate between your mind and your heart today and a good day to consider how to unite them. Here where I sit writing the weather has turned chilly, rainy and gray....not the most inviting environment for the delicate yellow butterfly of Gemini....I couldn't think of a clearer representation of the transits. The Moon has moved into Taurus now, bringing our awareness to how we integrate our material values with our spiritual values. The Aquarian Age we are now in has moved us into a new paradigm in many areas, and this is arguably one of the most conflicted. For the last 2000 years, we have invested our belief systems in a view that juxtaposes these two value systems in deep conflict. We have believed that the spiritual, invisible, intangible dimension of life is sacred and in the process negated the earthly and physical experience as not sacred. It is one of our vital challenges to learn to see all things on the circle of sacredness in their own right...underscoring our understanding of All in Divine Order. How we need to see food, sex, money, pleasure, self-love as sacred and having a seat at the table! The Taurus Moon can point out the gaps in our integration as it faces off against Saturn in Scorpio. Taurus also rules Ireland, so it might be a good idea to wear those shamrocks and bright green shirts for several days to pull in some healthy, grounded, patient energy of The Builder to help us stabilize a place to stand in this very intense emotional time. The Moon moved on into Aries this morning, infusing some much-needed adrenaline into our protracted journey through Pisces energy. The power level begins to grow as the light begins its increase. This provides us with the primal energy necessary to put our efforts at healing and our desire for rebirth into action. Spring will indeed come, no matter what. The ancient blood-power of Aries is the stuff that heroics and courage are made of....the kind of strength and fearlessness it takes for a tiny seedling a foot beneath the frozen ground to break open and shove itself relentlessly toward the surface until it finally breaks through to the sunlight. Healing can be a bit sticky sometimes -- some of us don't know quite how to behave when everything is actually all right. As we push ourselves toward the surface, we realize we aren't sure what the temperature is going to be, if the sun is shining or not, if other flowers have made it out yet....what should we do? How should we behave? What will be expected of us in this new environment of air and light? If left unacknowledged and unfocused, Aries energy can turn to anger and simmer or boil over. This is the energy available to you today and tomorrow. How will you use it? What does your life look like when it's healed? The Moon will be New at 2:52 -- I'm a poet and don't know it -- that's 2:52 pm on the 11th...indeed, it is an intense time, n'est pas? These past few weeks with so many planets in Pisces and the Mercury Retrograde there on top of it all have created a continuing discussion with us all about healing, our connection to the Divine, and - Pisces' favorite word - forgiveness. On the deepest level, we are only ever truly angry at ourselves.....for doing things in the past that are coming around now and that don't feel good on the receiving end of the seesaw. Therefore, in the deepest sense we need forgiveness for the self. It's been said that forgiveness is an act of love and freedom for the SELF. We forgive so we can turn loose, we turn loose so we can heal, we heal so we can connect to the Divine. Just look around - it's everywhere right now - make sure you reclaim your projections of anger and resentment, grudges and vengence from the people you have painted them onto....and treat them internally, where the work really is. If ever there was a time when all the healing energy you could need was at your fingertips....this is it. Keep that lavender candle burning as you let the past go. Today's New Moon in Pisces gives us a beautiful opportunity to rebirth that part of ourselves that needs to be pure and untarnished by old wounds and battles and to take a big step forward into wholeness. The Moon moves into Aquarius, as I continue to hear from all of you struggling with the chaos of the retrograde. I must agree - this one is powered up by all the other planets in Pisces and is really bringing up a lot of old stuff for review and resolution. We will probably feel the conflict strongly today brought by this fixed sign Moon squaring Saturn....so much water, so many powerful feelings, so much unconscious content spilling into the external world....and then the Aquarius Moon asks us to be rational, cool-headed, analytical.....oh, OK! This is a good time to turn to our wonderful friend, Carl Jung, who said that rationality was the perfect balance of INTELLECT AND EMOTION. Whatever is coming up for you, try to remind yourself that it is possible to understand the symbols around you, that rational analysis of seemingly random craziness is a wise and necessary tool, that no matter how goofy it may look....it's still your Soul talking to you in its own unique language. Try to keep your mental clarity intact.....even though we're on a wild ride in the Tardis! A scorpion, a goat, and a fish walk into a bar.......sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn't it? Not really, though, since in the world of the zodiac energies, these guys actually get along quite well. The Moon in Capricorn today will hopefully give us some relief from the tension and petty irritabilities created by the Sag Moon the last few days. I don't know about you...but NOTHING has been working the way it's supposed to this week! But the goat will look kindly on us today and tomorrow and bring us some much-needed solid ground to stand on. The earthy stability of this sign stands in between the two watery signs of Scorpio and Pisces -- in your imagination you could see the goat standing between the ocean and a huge waterfall -- standing on a rock, of course, and not on shifting sand! Try to use the next couple of days to get real and get grounded, because the retrograde is definitely not over yet. Of course, those of you who were born with Mercury Retrograde are having a fine time -- living it up feeling in sync with your world....for one of the three times every year that things flow well for you! ----Don't know if you were born with Mercury Retrograde or not? It's an important piece of information! Call for a session and find out. Mini-workshops on the planets....coming soon! With all the strong Pisces energy we have going on (6 - count them - 6 planetary energies clustered there), having the Moon in Sagittarius yesterday and today isn't making things any easier. Sag likes things Big, Bigger, Huge. It likes to pump energy into things and doesn't know when to stop. This theme may show up again today as our emotions could continue to build on what is not yet resolved and healed. Sag and Pisces share an ancient rulership and so have an old bond with each other based in the search for meaning and purpose and standing inside the spiritual viewpoint. You may need to fence with a bit of ennui or melancholy today, as normal routines feel like they are falling short of the grand design, high standards, and ultimate goals. Try to keep your Inner Child busy and engaged today and watch out for the tendency to blow things out of proportion. Irritating may be an understatement right now. |
