The Moon is Full in Sagittarius and powered up by the Lunar Eclipse. Full Moons bring us completion, contributing their great pools of energy to our endeavors to finish something. Eclipses have an extended effect on us, so we can finish something this weekend and continue to bring a larger circle to close over the next 6 months. Sagittarius rules beliefs and belief systems....fanatical and extreme when it's unhealthy, dedicated and faithful to the last breath when it's positive. Many of you are challenged by a level of emotional response that is unusual to you, vague in its source, and difficult to trace to the cause. This last week, as the energy built toward the Full Moon, has brought many of you "to your knees" with old wounds and their leftover, unhealed feelings. This Moon offers you the freedom of the eagle...the ability to see your life from way up on high...the bigger picture....the overall plan...the Divine Intention. Look at the past, the obsolete, the old you. And rise above it. Look at this magnificent bird......do you know what this feels like? Climbing up on Solsbury Hill I could see the city light Wind was blowing, time stood still Eagle flew out of the night He was something to observe Came in close, I heard a voice Standing stretching every nerve Had to listen, had no choice I did not believe the information (I) just had to trust imagination My heart going boom boom boom "Son," he said "Grab your things, I've come to take you home." -------Peter Gabriel, "Solsbury Hill"

The Full Moon in Sagittarius is coming, but it isn't here yet, which leaves us all in the energy of an almost-full Moon that's still in Scorpio, and it feels as powerful as it did last month. These 2 years that began last October are all about feelings. Many of us are struggling with not being able to think our way through the current moments. We are dealing with levels of karmic emotion that is very, very old, and little of it has anything to do with what's going on today, in this life. Many of you have told me that you feel sad, angry or ashamed......when there is really nothing wrong. We look at our lives intellectually and can say that we have so much to be thankful for and that things are actually going quite well....so why don't we feel better about it? Learning to discriminate between old leftover karmic emotions and feelings that are a direct comment on your experience at the moment is vital work -- and it's hard work. We need to hold tight to what we know is the reality of our current situations as we wade through the process of discriminating what we are feeling, where it is coming from, and what to do about it. No small feat. Don't forget the needs of your Inner Child - our kids are pretty loud these days with all of this emotional work going on. The actions necessary to make your Inner Child feel safe and secure can help to ground you as we move through another Full Moon this weekend. Don't know enough about your Inner Child's needs - personality, fears, feelings, joys? Possibly the most important piece of understanding your birth chart. Contact us for an appointment. As we watch the season bring the first roses into bloom, the Moon in Libra watches us. I wonder if She sees the same thing we do. I haven't written in this blog for a while, and one reason is that quite frankly I haven't known what I wanted to say. The demands of transformation have been taking a bit of a toll on a lot of us, and Saturn's requirement that we learn to withstand the extremes of Scorpio is difficult. This is a good time to remember that Saturn is our Schoolmaster and that our process of spiritual evolution is a lot like it used to be when we were in class as children: Learn a little bit - get a test....learn a little bit - get a test...and so forth. The same thing happens as we are growing in consciousness. If there's one thing we really need to hang onto right now, it's this viewpoint - that when it's time for us to take our next step, the first thing that happens is....we are shown directly and unmistakably what it is that needs to be changed...usually right in our faces. These 2 years, we are trying to become conscious of Scorpio's power on a higher level -- that means we get to see just how it looks on the lower level.....the paranoia, the mental self-abuse, the obsessiveness, the need to control, the way our emotions can become tidal waves of confusion and overwhelm. Ain't we got fun? Scorpio represents the darkest of the dark as well as the lightest of the light. This gives a bit more punch to our present experiences of The Dark Night of The Soul. It truly is darkest before the dawn, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier when we are still waiting for the Sun to come up. As I looked at the roses blooming this morning, I was struck by the darkness at the center of each bud, lurking there, waiting for the perfect moment to shove each petal one by one into the light. If you are feeling the pressure, the fear, the frustration of your own transformation, remember that you are a beautiful and precious flower, half in the bud and half out, not in control of the speed of your full blooming, waiting for Divine Timing to spread each petal of your spirit, one at a time, out of the darkness and into the light. Having a bad day in Earth School? Struggling with your tests? A session on your natal chart can illuminate the darkness and show you where you need to bloom. Contact me for an appointment now! The Moon wanes darkly today leading us into the New Moon tomorrow evening. It's already in Taurus but waning moon energy fades and dies and takes something of us with it. Deeper levels of Taurus include self-esteem and self-worth as well as our path to integrating spiritual and material values, an extremely challenging paradigm shift as we move on in the Age of Aquarius. It is obvious all around us that we have not learned to value the Earth, her plants, and her creatures as sacred. Today's Moon gives us the opportunity to leave an old piece of Taurus behind -- our stubbornness, our resistance to change, our tendency to say "no" to something new without inspection or consideration, our need to quantify our worth in the world through material things -- and welcome in a new, fresh piece of Taurus in its place. Wherever the New Moon falls in your personal birth chart, you are given a chance to start anew, to begin something, to bring into being a new creation, to breathe new life into that place in your life and inside yourself. Tonight, let us all turn loose of something that has hardened us or crystallized our lives in some way....and send a prayer to White Buffalo Woman that all of us, especially those in power, would come to see this beautiful world as a sacred place and move to protect it and all its inhabitants. Don't know where Taurus falls in your chart? Book an appointment for a natal chart session now! A free half-hour session is available The Fires of Beltane will burn tonight, and the Moon will be in Capricorn, bringing a solid, earthy energy to the party. Maypoles will be erected and decorated with brightly colored ribbons to be wrapped and wound in honor of our primal understanding of the mating and blending of masculine and feminine on this day that marks the fertility of spring and summer seasons. Within us all, the Divine Couple longs for union....the true marriage that brings us to Cosmic Inner Balance. All over the world, people will be partaking in ancient rituals -- we've been throwing a party on this day for a long, long time. The Capricorn Moon is likely to bring a bit of caution to the proceedings, so you may not want to paint yourself red and dance naked around the fire with all your neighbors and friends. But, somewhere deep inside you, there will be a spark igniting in your DNA that says, "Today is the beginning of the season of your fertility, your productivity, your creations". No matter the endeavor you desire to fuel, collective consciousness and ancient memories will be holding a torch for you -- grab it while it's here, light the fire of your choice, and let the wild man and wild woman within you out to indulge in a little fertility dance all your own. |
